The Stock Simulator is an interactive platform designed to provide users with a realistic experience of stock trading without the financial risk. Users can manage a virtual portfolio, track live stock prices, and execute buy/sell transactions. The platform offers a comprehensive view of your investment performance and helps you develop trading strategies.

Instructions for Use

  1. Registration and Login

    • Register for an account by providing your details.
    • Log in with your credentials to access the simulator.
    • A secure Forgotten Password provision is included.

  2. Portfolio Management

    • Upon logging in, you will see your current portfolio, including stock symbols, names, quantities, purchase prices, and current market prices.
    • The portfolio page displays your total funds balance and the total value of your investments.

  3. Viewing Stock Prices

    • The ticker at the top of the page shows live stock prices fetched from the Financial Modeling Prep API.
    • Prices are updated regularly to reflect real-time market conditions.

  4. Buying Stocks

    • Navigate to the "Select Stocks" page to view available stocks.
    • Choose stocks to add to your portfolio by specifying the quantity and confirming the purchase.

  5. Selling Stocks

    • In your portfolio, you can sell stocks by selecting the quantity you wish to sell.
    • The sale will update your portfolio and adjust your funds balance accordingly.

  6. Adding Funds

    • If needed, you can add virtual credits to your account by navigating to the "Add Sim-Credits" page.

  7. Logout

    • Ensure you log out after completing your session to secure your account.
